RECOGNISING & SUPPORTING EXCEPTIONALLY TALENTED STUDENTS

The Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Greece at Thessaloniki’s Anatolia College will this year, once again, be in Cyprus to offer extracurricular educational programmes designed specifically for children with exceptional academic abilities and a passion for learning through innovative and pioneering teaching methods.

The Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Greece] will be holding an open info day on Saturday 23 November, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the English School in Lefkosia, aimed at students from the 5th to the 9th grade.

During the event, students will be given a taster of the courses on offer at CTY Greece, thus exploring an exciting world where knowledge is acquired through innovative educational activities and new learning experiences care of the Center for Talented Children

  • Students from the 5th and 6th grades will attend, in Greek, one of the following two courses: ‘’Nanotechnology:  Microcosms in Action!’’ and ‘’The Exciting World of Chances.’’ Center for Talented Kids
  • Students from the 7th and 9th grades will attend, in English, one of the following two courses: ‘’Principles of Engineering’’ and ‘’Introduction to Biomedical Sciences’’.

On Wednesday November 27th, from 6 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., at the University of Cyprus (Council – Senate Building "Anastasios G. Leventis"), the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Greece, as an active participant in the public debate that has been opened in recent years on the education, and prospects for development, of talented children, is organizing in Lefkosia, in collaboration with the Cyprus Secondary Education Greek Teachers Association (OELMEK) and the Pancyprian Greek Teachers Association (POED), an event on the theme, ‘’Recognizing and Supporting Students with exceptional abilities’’, under the auspices of the Cyprus Ministry of  Education, Culture, Sport and Youth and sponsored by Lidl Cyprus.

The event is open to the entire educational community including:

•             Primary and secondary school teachers

•             Undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Departments of Education and Psychology

•             Researchers, School psychologists

•             Academics from the Departments of Education and Psychology

•             Education managers

•             Parents

  • The speeches delivered by Dr. O’Reilly and Dr. Reutlinger will be in English
