Lidl Food Academy

Lidl Food Academy

When Lidl Food Academy opened its doors for the very first time, it promised the wider public that it would pursue an endless taste journey. Since 2015, a number of cooking classes, seminars on nutrition, food and wine tasting, as well as seminars on specialised food categories have been materialised. At Lidl Food Academy, we support the value of healthy, homemade food, made with fresh ingredients from our land and we cook with these, thus contributing to a balanced diet and improving the quality of life of all of us. Food is a means of expression, socialisation, love. Food affects our health, mood, but also our appearance. Food is not only a key factor for survival; it is also a real pleasure for both ourselves and those we love.

Up until 2020, we have counted more than 200 free cooking classes for our customers and 600 original recipes created by our experienced chefs, but also hundreds of children who, as from 2018, have visited the Academy under the programme "Food Academy for children" which was organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, as well as the new Little chefs programme which was launched in 2022.

Creative Workshops for Little Chefs

These are creative cooking classes for children, which are divided into two sections and are offered by the Lidl Food Academy every Saturday, for children 6-8 years old and for children 9-12 years old. Children have the opportunity to develop their social skills, to get acquainted with cooking and confectionery, but also to become aware of their diet, learn important things about food waste, the viability of products and the origin of food.

Cooking Classes

Each class has its own unique subject matter and can be attended by up to 30 people. The classes take place in a relaxed and pleasant environment. The classes consist of a theoretical and practical part. Participants are given free raw materials, recipes and whatever else they need to execute recipes, along with an apron that predisposes them to the experience that awaits them. Each class is materialised at a common table where everyone has the opportunity to taste the food they have prepared. The lessons are designed to be interesting and enjoyable for beginners, but also for those who are experienced cooks.

Classes are held on Saturdays, from 9am to 1pm. Participants are selected through a draw.

Those interested in the cooking classes can easily and quickly register online at https://www.lidlfoodacademy.com.cy/ . Lucky winners for each class are selected through a draw that is held once a week, while the lucky winner wins two places so that he or she can share the experience with a loved one!
