A record number of participants attended a class based on the thematic of Street Food. Participants learned everything about the history of street food, from fried fish in ancient Greece to donuts in modern Spain, cooked dishes from the Middle East, Greece and Asia, and then admired their creations, all made with materials that anyone can find at their nearest Lidl store.
Hundreds of people showed interest in the class, with twenty of them having the opportunity to attend the class, only to discover new flavours and create imaginative dishes, always under the guidance of chef Konstantinos Petevinos. But what was so special about this class and why did it spark so much interest in people?
For many years, street food, and consequently fast food, was synonymous with junk food, poor quality food and unhealthy food. In recent years however, this has begun to change due to the fact that a new and rapidly growing culture around alternative street food is emerging. Today, street food is a delicious, and above all a healthy solution for a quick meal that lacks nothing in taste and quality.
When Lidl Food Academy’s class on street food from around the world was announced, the public fondly responded, resulting in a special Saturday breakfast for all the lucky participants. As always, the recipes proposed by chef Petevinos were simple but at the same time, they were also delicious and interesting, the raw materials had Lidl’s quality guarantee, and, most importantly, all participants had the opportunity to meet new cuisines and a new world, enjoyed a creative breakfast and ended the class by enjoying their own creations, all together. And, of course, all of this for free for all twenty lucky participants and their loved ones!
However, the Academy’s classes, open to all and accessible to all, do not end here.
