Lidl Wellness Camp: A special day dedicated to balanced nutrition and good health!

Lidl Cyprus, within the framework of its corporate responsibility, presented the first Lidl Wellness Camp, an event which was originally scheduled to take place on World Food Day and was postponed due to the current extraordinary circumstances.

Lidl Cyprus, regardless of the unusual circumstances we’re witnessing, aspired to convey the message of this important day by organising an online seminar that was dedicated to one of the main goods that connects us all: food.

The event, which was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment and The Cyprus Dietetic & Nutrition Association, began with a message from the Minister Costas Kadis, who congratulated Lidl Cyprus for the initiative and the on-going food audits it conducts, while noting the significant progress that Cyprus has made in the field of agricultural productivity, as well as in the value of locality and the proper use of resources.

The stage was then given to the President of The Cyprus Dietetic & Nutrition Association, Dr. Eleni Andreou Georgaki, who referred to nutrition as a foundation for good health, while emphasising on the contribution of nutrition labels to a balanced diet.

The start of the event was announced by the PR Manager of Lidl Cyprus, Fotini Pallikaridou, who pointed out the "Heroes of Food’s" special contribution, expressing a big "thank you" to all the people who worked under difficult conditions and especially during the pandemic, so as to make sure that nothing is missing from any of our dinning tables.

The digital seminar was attended by academics, nutritionists, food technologists, psychologists and athletes, who shared valuable food for thought with the public, while during the event, the public had the opportunity to learn about sustainable Lidl products in relation to the 17 Sustainable Development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

The first Lidl Wellness Camp conveyed the most modern nutritional trends for a balanced diet, the experience of millions of consumers around the world, knowledge on the origin of ingredients and underlined, among other things, the value of responsible consumption for the future of our planet.

With its own associates, Lidl Cyprus will continue to walk the "road towards a better tomorrow" with initiatives that promote the proper management of resources for a sustainable planet for all of us and future generations.
