For the 4th consecutive year, Lidl Cyprus was awarded with the Top Employer title by the internationally recognised organisation Top Employers Institute, both in Cyprus and Europe, for its support to its employees, for its salaries and benefits, for its corporate culture, as well as for the training and development opportunities it provides.

The companies that receive the Top Employer certification seek to put their employees at the centre of their business activities as well as to provide them with an exemplary working environment. This year, the Top Employers Institute has identified and awarded over 1,600 top employers from 120 countries and territories across 5 continents.

"This year is the 4th consecutive year that we are certified as a Top Employer. 2020 was a different year, particularly demanding for all of us. All our employees, in our stores, in our logistics centres and in our offices, had to adapt to the new conditions - each team in a different way. And we did it. We ensured a safe, healthy working environment, maintained our work positions and salaries, and rewarded our over 620 employees with additional benefits amounting to € 600,000. All of this, as well as the continuous improvement in personnel issues that the Human Resources team takes care of, is what secured us with such an important recognition for yet another year, " said Spyros Kondylis, General Manager of Lidl Cyprus.

For David Plink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute, “2020 will go down in history as the year with the biggest challenges for business. In this context, Lidl Cyprus can be particularly proud of the Top Employer 2021 award. It is a brilliant proof that Lidl Cyprus places the well-being of its employees at the top of its priorities.”

This year, as every year, Lidl Cyprus, will invest more than 170,000 euros in the training and development of its employees, and over 150,000 million euros in welfare programs and actions for its employees. Guided by its employees, its goal is to further shape a safe and optimistic work environment, to ensure equal opportunities for development and growth and to recognize performance with objective and merit-based criteria.

It also plans to hire new people in a variety of work positions, within its stores, logistics centres and offices, further strengthening its presence in the Greek retail market with the aim of remaining the employer of choice, with stability and responsibility.
